How to Check which Pages from Your Website Are in Google’s Supplemental Index

Today, I had a little bender about Google’s supplemental index and was quickly drawn to the topic of how to check which pages on your website are in Google’s supplemental index.

I found a lot of solutions out there, and I also found that a lot of them didn’t work or didn’t work consistently. After digging and reading and testing quite a few different options, I found that this solution worked consistently:

Step 1). Google site:www.yourdomain.com and write down the total number of results found. This number is the total number of webpages from your website that Google has indexed.

Step 2). Google site:www.yourdomain.com -inallurl:www.yourdomain.com and write down the total results found. This number is the total number of webpages found in Google’s main index.

Step 3). Calculate the following:

Total Indexed Page – Main Indexed Page = Number of Pages in the supplemental index

The next thing I need to find out is how to determine exactly which pages are in the supplemental index, which may prove tricky since Google dropped the supplemental index label.
